A Post About Nothing.

Because I don't have time for a real, actual thought provoking, or thought-through post.

Lucky you, you get this.

Today someone said this to me (in response to being able to plan a meeting to look at new tile for our bathroom being like 2-3 weeks out): "Wow, i dont know how you keep up with your life...when do you get to relax and just vegg in your own place. Is traveling as much as you do tough on you?"

My response: Duh, that's what Saturdays are for! Vegging! Did you know that most days I don't get out of PJs on Saturday until it's time to go out for dinner? Baby and I just scrounge around the house for whatever we can call food for lunch. Like - lunch could be crackers. Or cat food. Or a random tomato.

Kidding about the cat food.

AS FAR AS YOU KNOW.

Seriously, CheekyMonkey said almost the same thing the other day...something along the lines of 'you are so go-go-go I don't know when you ever relax' and I'm all like - HELLZ YEAH, that's what Saturday's are for. So, you know what? Ask me to be somewhere Saturday, and especially ask me to be somewhere early and I'm all bite it dude. no way in hell. Saturdays are ME days. Baby days. Now, I may choose to spend those days cleaning out filing cabinets and paying bills and PAYING OFF CREDIT CARDS (that's what we did this past Saturday thank you very much), but I still am NOT:
  1. getting up early
  2. getting showered or dressed before noon at the earliest
  3. meeting anyone else's schedule
  4. leaving my babies.

That is, of course, unless we're out of town doing something. Totally different story, but Saturdays when i'm home. That's pretty much what we do. That's what we did the past 4-10 Saturdays that we were home that I can remember. How's that?

Also, does traveling wear me out? Not really, but sometimes. Depends on my mood. The more I have to do the more I get done. When i don't have anything to do, I get lazy and NOTHING gets done. Hell, sometimes I just sit and watch TV.

As you'll probably note, it certainly impacts SOME part of our lives. For example, if you recall, i had ductwork sitting around my living room for oh, approximately 4 months. I got off my ass and fixed THAT just last week because JEN AND TONIC ARE COMING TO VISIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really REALLY wish I'd find time to get something done with the bathroom. But you know what? When I have time at home? i'd much rather hang out with Baby, snuggle with Maddie, take pictures of the cats, watch some Air Emergency, Seconds from Disaster, Saving Grace, or whatever I happen to have Tivo'd right that second. yep, I am, in fact, actually very lazy. :)

Really? it's about priorities people. you HAVE to have downtime. I am paying for not SCHEDULING down time right now as a matter of fact.

Did I ever mention that we signed up for sailing classes? Well, we did. We're taking them 2 weeks and 1 day from today. FUCK. Guess who forgot to schedule downtime between scheduling the class and taking the class to read all the fucking prep material.

*ETK raises her hand*

Fuck. Oh well, that just means one day I won't sleep or something. :) Actually, I just found the only free 8 hours we have in the next 2.5 weeks and booked it for sailing study.

Crapola, when am I gonna get to swim in D-Mo's pool?!?!? WAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

2 bits of love:

I need downtime. I have too many things going on and I can't keep up with them all. I guess that's what happens when a baby comes along. I wish that I could do that Saturday thing like you. But, if I did, the house would fall down around us. I really just need to make enough money that someone else can do that stuff for me!

Can't you guys just stay in your PJs all day on Saturdays too? Even with a baby?? :)

I need enough money to have a PA, that's for damn sure.
